BACKCOUNTRY IMMERSION *fundraiser*

PROVEN ON CAMERA. PROVEN IN THE FIELD.

A group of people standing outdoors near a river, with a man in a beige shirt and white cap in the foreground, and women in the background, some holding small objects, all surrounded by green trees and rocky landscape.

Laura Zerra built her name surviving on Discovery's Naked and Afraid.

Steven Lee Hall Jr. did the same on Naked and Afraid XL, turning nothing into a plan when everything went wrong.

Tyr Symank spent his career as a Green Beret and Special Forces medic, keeping people alive when the stakes were real, not scripted.

Together they're running Backcountry Immersion — fire, water, shelter, and fieldcraft taught by people who've actually done it, on camera and off. You're not being entertained. You're being led.

A smiling man with a beard and mustache, wearing a cap, sunglasses, a camouflage patterned shirt, and a GoPro camera hanging around his neck, outdoors with blurred trees in the background.
Three people sitting on grass outdoors, watching a helicopter fly overhead with a person hanging from its rope in a mountainous area.

Laura, Steven, and Tyr aren't doing this alone. Standing beside them: SERE-trained instructors, Marine Scout Snipers, Marine Mountain Survival Instructors, and medical professionals — veterans who run point on the ground every day of the event. They keep the team moving, keep it safe, and keep the standard exactly where it needs to be.

THE TEAM BEHIND THE TEAM.

YOUR TICKET FUNDS THE MISSION.

Backcountry Immersion isn't a retreat — it's Montana Vet Program's biggest public fundraiser. Every ticket goes straight toward Veteran-Led Therapeutic Adventure Trips: getting veterans into Montana's wilderness and sending them home with tools that outlast the trip. You're not just here to learn. You're funding the reason we exist.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY GETTING.

Outdoor gear and supplies laid out on a wooden surface, including a tan backpack, a rolled orange sleeping pad, water bottles, knives, flashlights, batteries, and emergency items.

gear you will use

Every participant walks away with $1,000+ in field-tested gear from mission partners — Mystery Ranch packs, Montana Knife Company blades, a 6-month MTNTough training membership, plus gear from STIHL, Exotac, and FHF Gear. This isn't swag. It's equipment built by people who actually go outside, and it's yours to keep long after the five days are over

YOU SHOW UP. WE HANDLE THE REST.

Lodging and food are covered for the entire event, start to finish. No logistics to manage, no meals to plan. Every bit of your energy goes into the training, not into figuring out where you're sleeping or what you're eating that night.

LEARN FROM PEOPLE WHO'VE ACTUALLY DONE IT.

You're training under Naked and Afraid alumni Laura Zerra and Steven Lee Hall Jr., retired Green Beret Tyr Symank, and a veteran cadre of SERE trainers and Marine Scout Snipers. This isn't a weekend workshop taught from a manual — it's direct access to people who've built these skills under real conditions, not for an audience.

STRAIGHT FROM THE FIELD.

"Classes were short but packed with great information. The best part was being able to go apply concepts in real backcountry scenarios."

— Tristan Richter

"The 'share your survival story' session was incredibly meaningful... And of course, the Pig Egg. Including it in BCI and taking the time to talk about its significance is incredibly important... It serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices that were made and helps connect participants to the deeper purpose behind MVP's mission."

— Keren Zucker

"We learned bushcraft from Laura Zerra and Steven Lee Hall Jr and wilderness 1st Aid from Tyr Symank. Best-in-class instructors make a First Class experience."
